I'm Just A Simple Girl

I'm feeling the need lately for simplicity. I chose my blog layout a few months ago and I just wasn't feeling it anymore. I wanted something red before. Now I just want something simple. So, that's why things look a little different. (If only it was that easy to clean out my garage!) Also, you may have noticed over the last couple of weeks a new application called Apture. Instead of clicking on a link and leaving the page, if you just hover over the link, a small version of the page will show up. If I've linked to a picture, the picture will show up. If it's a video, the video will play automatically. Kinda cool, I think.

And, I got some awards! The first one I received from Diane and Heather. It's a friendship award that represents the friends we've made through blogging. It's kind of fitting that I got it from Diane, one of my oldest friends, and Heather, a new blog friend. They're kind of like friend bookends.

The other award is from Protege. She gave me this Real People, Real Blogs award. It's for blogs that keep it real. I learn something new almost every time I read Protege's blog. She knows so much! Thank you Z! I'll try to keep on keeping it real if you keep on teaching me things!

It's funny how caught up in people's lives we become just by reading a few paragraphs they write every day. We can sense when they're having a good day or a bad one even when they don't come out and say it because we get used to their writing voice. We may see our co-workers for 8 or more hours a day, we may talk to our families on the phone a couple of times a week, but reading someone's words every day is like taking a little look into their soul. And, I'm grateful that I get to share that with my blog friends.

I'll pass these on when it's not 2:30 in the morning and I can think better!

Congratulations on your awards; you know you deserve them.;))
I agree with you, there is nothing like the written word. Often people are more brave and expose a piece of their soul, when they write.
I feel the same as you, I love to get to know people through their blogs and I feel almost closer to them, in certain ways, than I do with the ones I know on every day bases.;)

I love your new design and I also like the new gadget; have to check it out myself. You are very computer smart.;))

'Friend bookends', I love that turn of expression - You are so right about the instant gratification, it seems, by getting a glimpse into beautiful souls! Many congrats on those well-deserved awards!

Congrats, Pal O'Mine. And yeah, I'm feeling the whole simplicity thing. In a big way.

I love changing my blog look around. I like the new look. I thought "HEy...did I hit the wrong link?" when I first came over. Funny how you get "attached" to things.

And I agree with you 100% about the blogging relationships and how you get to "know" bloggers. There should be a study on this I think!
