Vote for Tom Update

Last week I wrote about how there were signs on Independence that said "Vote For Tom". I was still curious about them since I haven't been able to find out anything more. So, this morning I decided to pull over in the Chili's parking lot and walk out to the edge of the road where all the election signs are and take a picture of it.

It didn't go quite as smoothly as I had hoped it would. The road was A LOT further from the Chili's parking lot than I had thought it was. So, I took off running across the grass towards the road (one of the busiest in Charlotte, btw) in my work clothes and carrying my nice camera. I had looked for my little inexpensive one, but I couldn't find it this morning. I got about half way across the grass before realizing that - Duh! - my nice camera has a super-zoom (yes, that's the technical term, shut up!), so I didn't have to go all the way out to the road to get a clear picture. I snapped the picture and then took off back across the grass.

As it turns out, the sign is for a guy named Tom White who is running for a Delgate seat in the NC House for the Republican party. Had I been able to find out what "Vote For Tom" meant, I think it would have been an ingenious and inexpensive marketing tool. But, since I couldn't find a clear meaning for "Vote for Tom" I think it fell flat. Seriously, not every fool is going to park her car to find out what the sign says.

Just this fool.

Ha! And you're not even a Republican fool! Wait, is that redundant? ;) Anyway, poor Tom. Poor idiot, Republican Tom.

Yeah, there has been some "Vote for Bubba" signs down here in South Carah-lah-nah and we've all been confused about which Bubba they're talking about ... there were 4 on the ballot. I voted for the first one. Mom
